Overview

The EFI Project Centre “ConForest” was founded in 2000 with the intention of researching the options and consequences of conversion of Norway spruce forests outside their natural range.

ConForest started its second term in 2004. The range of species has increased and includes, beside Norway spruce, pines as well as other coniferous species. The number of active member institutions is still growing and has reached 30 in January 2006. The institutions are situated in more than 15 countries.
